A DIFFERENT KIND OF PRIMARY CARE

Keep the coverage. Change the relationship.

As your health changes, the challenge is often not finding another doctor. It is having one place where the day-to-day decisions still make sense together.

REAL-LIFE CARE

How this actually works in real life.

Three common situations.
Three clear examples of how Pearl can fit alongside Medicare when real life gets complicated.

An older man stands in a living room, holding his head with one hand and the back of a chair with the other, looking worried or in pain.

Something feels different

You’re dizzy, unusually tired, short of breath, or just not feeling like yourself. You may not know what it means, but you know it isn’t normal for you.

An older woman in activewear stands on a wooded path, leaning forward with one hand on her knee and the other on her lower back, appearing to be in discomfort.

Your Body Is Over It

Knee pain, back pain, poor sleep, or reduced stamina starts getting in the way of the things you actually want to do. Primary care should help you stay in your life, not just manage diagnoses.

An elderly woman sits beside an elderly man lying in bed under a floral blanket. The room has religious decor, a lamp, and a box of tissues, creating a caring and comforting atmosphere.

Home from the hospital

New medications. New instructions. Follow-up appointments. Pearl helps you understand what comes next.

Use Pearl for primary care.

Pearl doesn’t replace Medicare. It gives you a privately paid primary care relationship while Medicare continues doing the job you rely on it for outside Pearl.

Primary care stays here

Yes. There is overlap. And that’s the point.

Medicare already covers primary care. Pearl lets you choose one physician to carry that part of your care, so you aren’t starting over every time something changes.

A Venn diagram compares Medicare and Pearl; Medicare covers specialists, hospital care, imaging, procedures, and prescriptions, while Pearl adds easier access to primary care, chronic care, follow-up, and direct physician relationships.
A Venn diagram showing overlap between Pearl (primary care) and Medicare (medical needs), with icons for visits, conditions, reviews, specialists, hospital care, imaging, procedures, and prescriptions.

That still leaves the obvious question: if Medicare already covers primary care, why pay for a Pearl membership?

WHY ADD A PEARL MEMBERSHIP?

Because coverage and care are not the same thing.

Medicare gives you important coverage. Pearl gives you something different: a physician who has the time and context to help you make sense of your health as it changes.

Can I use Direct Primary Care with Medicare?

Yes. Pearl is designed to sit alongside Medicare, not replace it. You keep the coverage you already depend on, while Pearl becomes the place where your everyday care feels familiar, direct, and easier to navigate.

Am I paying twice for primary care?

There is some overlap, and we would rather say that plainly. What you are really choosing is a different way to receive primary care, one where you are known over time instead of starting from scratch at every visit.

What happens when I need a specialist or hospital care?

You still use Medicare for that care. Pearl helps you pick up the thread (or pieces) afterward, understand what changed, and figure out what needs your attention next once you are back in everyday life.

What am I actually paying Pearl for?

For a physician who knows your history, understands what matters to you, is easily accessible, and can recognize when something is different because they know where you started. You do not have to keep retelling the same story just to get someone oriented.

WHEN HEALTH GETS MORE COMPLICATED

When the pieces stop fitting neatly

The picture changes over time. New medications, new diagnoses, new specialists, new questions. Before long, there are more pieces than you started with and no obvious place they all fit. Having one physician who understands how it all connects can make it manageable again.

Now let's see what that looks like in real life.

Two older adults kneel in a garden, planting seedlings in the soil. Both wear gloves and casual clothes, focused on their gardening task. Green plants and a wooden fence are visible in the background.

The numbers keep drifting

Blood pressure is up. A1C moved. Cholesterol changed. None of it feels urgent, but together it starts to tell a different story.

An older woman sits at a table covered with bills and papers, looking worried and resting her head on her hand in a kitchen setting. A drink and a vase with flowers are also on the table.

Many doctors, one body

A specialist changes a medication. Another orders testing. Someone else is watching a different condition. You need one physician who can see how it all fits together.

An older man sits on a couch looking pensive with his hand on his chin, while a woman stands behind him looking concerned in a warmly decorated living room.

You Don't Want to Go Back

We understand. Sometimes the hardest part is simply finding out where things stand. Getting back on track should start with understanding where you are now, not judging how you got there.

Staying on top of your health helps you stay in charge of your life.

You don’t have to manage all of it alone. Your physician helps keep track of what changed, what still matters, and what deserves attention next, so managing your health does not become a second full-time job.

And you still get to be the person living your life. The goal is not to spend more time thinking about healthcare. It is to make the healthcare part easier to manage, so more of your attention can stay where you actually want it.

WHAT THIS FEELS LIKE

Primary care feels different when your doctor has time to know you.

When your health gets more complicated, being known matters more. These patients describe what it feels like to have a physician who listens, remembers the context, and doesn’t make you start from the beginning every time.

FAQ · QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK

What people usually want to know before joining Pearl.

The practical questions are pretty straightforward: how Pearl works with Medicare, what stays covered elsewhere, what you pay privately, and how the pieces fit together.

A common example is Original Medicare Parts A and B + Medigap Plan N + Part D, when needed + Pearl Primary Care. Medicare and Plan N continue handling eligible outside care and cost-sharing, Part D can handle prescription coverage, and Pearl remains your privately paid primary care relationship.

For some people, that creates a clean balance between broad medical coverage and a more personal, consistent primary care experience.

Pearl does not sell Medicare plans or recommend a specific plan. This is simply one example of how Medicare and Direct Primary Care can fit together.

Yes. Pearl changes your primary care relationship, not the rest of your Medicare coverage. You can still use Medicare for eligible outside care such as specialists, hospital services, imaging, procedures, and other covered services.

No. Pearl physicians have opted out of Medicare, so your membership and physician care are privately paid under a private contract. Medicare continues to cover eligible care you receive from other participating providers.

Because you are not paying for more of the same. You are choosing a physician who knows your story, understands your baseline, and can help make sense of the growing number of medications, specialists, follow-ups, and health changes that accumulate over time.

Pearl gives you one place to start, one physician who sees the whole picture, and a better chance to stay on top of your health before it starts running your life.

Unfortunately, not at this time. Colorado law currently does not allow Pearl to privately charge Medicaid members for Medicaid-covered primary care services. A 2026 bill that would have created a pathway for Direct Primary Care agreements with Medicaid members did not pass.

PRIMARY CARE, DIFFERENTLY

Keep your Medicare.

Change your primary care.

As your health changes, having one physician who knows where you’ve been and helps you figure out what comes next can make everything feel more manageable. The goal is simple: keep your care from taking over your life.

SOMETHING FEELS DIFFERENT

You know your body. Something’s changed.

IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE DRAMATIC

You’re more tired than usual. A little dizzy. Short of breath sooner than you expect. Nothing screams emergency, but it isn’t normal for you.

THAT CHANGE MEANS SOMETHING

When your doctor knows your usual baseline, small changes have context. They can tell what is new, what has been building, and what deserves a closer look.

START WITH SOMEONE WHO KNOWS YOU

You do not have to decide on your own whether the next step is reassurance, testing, a medication review, or something more urgent.

An older man in a blue polo shirt swings a golf club on a sunny golf course, while three other men stand and talk in the background with mountains and trees behind them.

THE RESULT

Know what changed.
Know what to do next.

YOUR BODY IS CHANGING YOUR PLANS

You’re still ready to go. Your body just isn’t cooperating.

IT STARTS WITH LITTLE TRADE-OFFS

You skip the longer walk. Take the elevator instead of the stairs. Sit out something you normally enjoy because your back, knee, sleep, or stamina is making the decision for you.

THEN YOUR WORLD GETS SMALLER

Not because you want it to, but because more and more plans start getting filtered through what hurts, what tires you out, or what you are trying to avoid.

THE GOAL IS TO GET YOUR LIFE BACK IN THE PICTURE

At Pearl our doctors can help figure out what is driving the change and what can realistically improve, so your health supports the life you want instead of quietly shrinking it.

THE RESULT

More life.
Fewer limits.

HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL

The crisis is over. Now comes everything after.

YOU COME HOME WITH MORE THAN YOU LEFT WITH

New medications. New instructions. Follow-up appointments. Maybe a diagnosis you are still trying to understand.

THEN REAL LIFE STARTS AGAIN

Questions show up after the discharge papers are put away. What changed? What matters now? Who should you call first if something does not feel right?

THIS IS WHERE CONTINUITY MATTERS

Your primary care physician can help make sense of what happened, review the changes, and reconnect the hospital event to the rest of your health.

An elderly woman and man smile while playing cards together in bed. The man is under a patterned blanket, and the room is warmly lit, with religious icons and flowers on a nightstand in the background.

THE RESULT

You’re home.
Your care keeps going.

THE NUMBERS KEEP DRIFTING

It doesn't "feel" urgent.
Maybe just ignore it?

EASY TO EXPLAIN AWAY...

Your blood pressure is a little higher than usual. A1C nudges up. Cholesterol shifts. None of it feels serious enough to interrupt your day.

...UNTIL THE PIECES MULTIPLY

One change becomes three. A medication gets adjusted. Another lab needs repeating. What felt easy to ignore starts getting harder to keep straight.

THAT’S WHEN CONTEXT MATTERS

At Pearl, your doctor can look across the changes, compare them with what came before, and decide what actually needs attention now.

An older couple sits closely on a garden bench, smiling and holding coffee mugs, surrounded by blooming flowers and lush greenery on a sunny day.

THE RESULT

Small changes can tell a much bigger story.

TOO MANY DOCTORS, ONLY ONE BODY

Everyone has a piece. Who has the whole story?

EVERYTHING, EVERYWHERE, ALL AT ONCE

A medication gets adjusted. Another specialist orders testing. Someone else is watching a different condition entirely.

NOW YOU’RE CARRYING THE MAP

You are the one remembering who said what, what changed, what still needs follow-up, and whether any of it overlaps.

THIS IS WHERE PEARL CONNECTS THE PIECES

Your primary care physician helps bring the pieces back together, so you have one place to make sense of what changed and what comes next.

A smiling elderly woman sits at a table with a young girl and teenage boy, all enjoying chocolate chip cookies and glasses of milk. A vase of flowers and a plate of cookies are on the table in a cozy kitchen.

THE RESULT

One body. One connected story.

YOU’VE BEEN AFRAID TO GO BACK

The longer you wait, the harder it gets to walk back in.

YOU ALREADY KNOW SOMETHING’S OFF

You’ve missed the follow-up. Maybe the blood pressure is still high. Maybe the labs never got repeated. The worry sits there, even when you try not to think about it.

FEAR FILLS IN THE BLANKS

Now you’re not just worried about your health. You’re worried about what the doctor will say, how much has changed, and whether you waited too long.

IT'S OK. START WHERE YOU ARE

A good physician doesn’t need you to arrive with everything fixed. The first job is to understand where things stand now, then work forward from there with you.

An older couple sits close together on a balcony at sunset. The woman leans on the mans shoulder, smiling. He holds a mug. A lantern, fruit bowl, and books are on the table in front of them.

THE RESULT

No judgment.
Just a way forward.
