If you’ve been looking for Dr. Degurse, you’re in the right place.
Dr. Rachael Degurse is a board-certified primary care physician who practiced for many years in Colorado Springs within large healthcare organizations, including Optum. During that time, she cared for a large and diverse patient panel and provided long-term primary care to thousands of patients in the community.
She also practiced within physician-led group settings, including Mountain View Medical Group, before founding and operating her own independent medical practices in Colorado Springs. Today, Dr. Degurse leads Pearl Primary Care and Pearl Skin & Body Rejuvenation, providing physician-directed care built around continuity, professionalism, and long-term patient relationships.
Dr. Degurse brings extensive experience in adult primary care, with a clinical background rooted in comprehensive, relationship-driven medicine. Her work has included preventive care, chronic disease management, and long-term patient partnerships across a wide range of health needs.
While practicing within system-based healthcare environments such as Optum, she managed complex patient panels and navigated the realities of modern primary care delivery, including coordination across specialties and long-term care planning.
This experience informs her approach today as an independent physician. By combining the clinical rigor of large healthcare systems with the flexibility of physician-led practice, Dr. Degurse provides primary care that is both thorough and personal, without sacrificing standards or continuity.
Dr. Rachael Degurse is a primary care physician in Colorado Springs with a long history of caring for patients in the community.
Dr. Degurse believes primary care works best when there is time to listen, continuity in care, and a strong physician-patient relationship. For many patients, that means having a doctor who knows their history, understands their goals, and can provide thoughtful guidance over time, not just during brief visits.
At Pearl Primary Care, this philosophy is reflected in a practice model designed around access, trust, and long-term care. By limiting patient volume and removing unnecessary barriers, Dr. Degurse is able to focus on preventive care, informed decision-making, and meaningful partnerships with the people she serves.
I want to take a moment to speak directly to those of you who may be looking for me, as well as those who are learning about my practice for the first time.
Practicing medicine in a way that allows for time, trust, and genuine connection has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. Early in my career, I believed deeply in the importance of building long-term relationships with patients and being present for the full arc of their care. Over time, I found that protecting those values within traditional healthcare settings became increasingly difficult.
Over the last several years, while building and caring for patients through my medical spa practice, Pearl Skin & Body Rejuvenation, I had the opportunity to step back and truly listen in a different way. Being directly responsible for the experience, the time spent with patients, and the decisions guiding their care brought clarity to what people value most. They want to feel heard, understood, and treated as individuals, not as appointments moving through a schedule.
That experience reinforced something I had always believed as a physician. Time, autonomy, and thoughtful decision-making are not extras in medicine. They are essential. Pearl Primary Care was created so I could practice medicine in a way that centers those principles and allows me to be fully present for my patients.
If you are a former patient, I want you to know that this is a continuation of the care you knew, not a departure from it. And if you are new, I hope this gives you a clear sense of how I approach medicine and what you can expect from my practice.
